Dear IITD Alumnus,

As Director of IIT Delhi, I am delighted to be able to address you through the columns of the newly started quarterly newsletter by our Office of Alumni Affairs and International Programs. It is our genuine desire and hope to be able to connect the alumni of this great institution, wherever they might be, with their alma-mater, through the columns of this newsletter. We do hope this newsletter to become a regular source of information for all our alumni about the latest developments at IIT Delhi, while also serving as a platform for participation of our alumni in helping the administration in meeting some of the challenges we face in the years ahead.

  Convocation 2008  
 

39th convocation of IIT Delhi was held on 9th August 2008. Dr. R.K. Pachauri, Director General, The Energy Research Institute graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. A total of 1415 degrees were awarded in the convocation which included B.Tech. - 380, five year Dual Degree (MTech and BTech) - 88, five year integrated MTech in Maths & Computing - 22, M.Tech. - 589, M.Sc. - 89, M.S. (Research) – 4, M.Des. – 17, MBA – 63, Ph.D. – 147 & DIIT – 16.Degree of Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa) was conferred on Prof. Sukh Dev, who is a scientist of international repute and is well recognized for his contributions in the area of Organic Chemistry, especially Chemistry of Natural Products. Three alumni were honoured with Distinguished Alumni Awards and two with Distinguished Alumni Service Awards on this occasion....more
